The Beginning

Terry formed The Terriers to take part in a concert at Woodlands Park Village Hall, Maidenhead, in August 1958. At just 17 years old, this was Terry's first step into what would become a 30-year journey in music.

The Band

The original Terriers lineup consisted of:

Later, Graham Jennings left and was replaced by Pete Hennessy on lead guitar, while Colin Sheaf took over from Murray Downing on drums.

Setting the Stage

Though The Terriers were a local outfit, these early performances gave Terry his first taste of entertaining an audience — a feeling that would drive him for the next five decades. The skills and connections made during this period would set the foundation for his professional career with The Avalons.
